I'm moving to China!
After a ton of efforts over the past few months, I have been informed that I am welcome to join a four-year Software Engineering programme at Sichuan University, one of China's top universities, starting next academic year (Sept '25). As one of the few Western European students at this university, I will take this step as a continuation of my current studies in Software Development at Alfa-college in Groningen, which I successfully completed this year. This is a big step, involving many changes and the opportunity to see and learn many new things. I would like to give a special thank you to my teachers at Alfa-college and my colleagues at Convident (my now completed internship company) for their assistance in providing some necessary documents.
This change not only signifies personal growth but also the closing and opening of doors in various places. My company, PartydoosMedia, where I have joyfully worked on the brand identities of hundreds of companies over the past five years, will also undergo a transformation.
PartydoosMedia has been acquired by a UK company, who will work on bringing on board new people, bringing growth that previously wasn’t possible due to my lack of time. I am incredibly excited to share all the details!
I will be joining a four-year Software Engineering programme at Sichuan University, one of China's top universities, starting next academic year. This opportunity will allow me to continue my studies in Software Development and gain new experiences. The programme spans a total of 4 years in Chengdu, a tier-one city in China with over 20 million residents!
I will be joining a four-year Software Engineering programme at Sichuan University, one of China's top universities, starting next academic year. During this period, I will have severely reduced availability. I would not be able to focus on both my studies and PartydoosMedia at the same time. This means that selling PartydoosMedia was the only option to ensure it would continue for years to come — without reduced quality. I will still be involved with the company, though it will no longer be my main focus.
The new PartydoosMedia team will take over most projects after a transition period. I will still be involved in some projects, and if you REALLY want me to work on your project, pass along a message - however, I'm confident the new team will deliver the same quality as I have done over the past five years. I will still be active in the company outside of projects in a management position as CEO.
The acquisition ensures continuity in quality and service. Our new owner has committed to upholding PartydoosMedia’s reputation and quality standards. Additionally, I will remain involved in strategic decisions and oversight to ensure the brand’s integrity is maintained.
No adjustments in pricing are expected in the near future. Any future changes will be communicated to clients in advance.
The new team will take over client communication channels, including email, phone, and messaging platforms. We will make changes to how tickets are handled, and you will be informed of any changes in advance.
The new team will be trained and onboarded during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover. I will provide guidance and support to maintain strong client relationships and operational continuity.
Thanks all <3
